In the Summer of 2005 I went on a cruise on the Royal Clipper. The cruise began in Venice and among other places stopped in the port of Taormina, Sicily. Riding a bus, cable car and a four-wheel drive bus took us to an area that did not exist prior to the eruption in July, 2001, may no longer exist since the eruption in May 2008.
